Expect Netflix to be making lots of new announcements next week in place of the quieter lineup. Don’t worry though, September is shaping up to be a fantastic month with The Walking Dead and Agents of SHIELD already announced for the month.
Netflix has picked up several of Scorsese’s greatest hits as of late and the most recent will be the 2002 Gangs of New York hit. Scoring itself 10 Oscar nominations and countless other awards, it’s a movie not to be missed.
The movie sees Leonardo DiCaprio play the role of Amsterdam Vallon who’s returning to New York seeking revenge for his father’s death.
Co-starring in Gangs of New York includes the likes of Daniel Day-Lewis, Cameron Diaz, John C. Reilly and Liam Neeson.

his week’s tentpole TV series is undoubtedly 13 Reasons Why. The series continues to be both controversial and popular for Netflix with some questioning why it still exists and others why it isn’t extending past season 4.
The new season will focus on the death of someone else and ask the question, who killed Bryce Walker? You can see all we know about 13 Reasons Why season 3 in our preview.
Netflix Release Date: August 23rd
Robin Wright, mostly known for her time on Netflix’s House of Cards appeared in this 2013 sci-fi drama which scored well with critics.
Robin plays a character who’s an out-of-work actress who accepts a job to hopefully turn around her fortunes. The job ends up entailing much more than she anticipated, however as she’s scanned into a world that’s unlike the real one.
We’d advise you heading into this movie cold (ie. don’t watch the trailer below) as it’s a fascinating movie that is under-watched and thankfully, can soon be enjoyed on Netflix.
This list isn’t necessarily the full list. Every week, Netflix releases new titles that haven’t been pre-announced. You can see the daily new releases on our what’s new on Netflix section.
Just announced for the rest of August include the third season of The Good Place as well as the latest season of Syfy’s Van Helsing. That’s not discounting our most anticipated release of the month in the form of The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.
