New Delhi: throughout Ukraine, Russian invasion continues to take bloody victims, destroy cities and ensure that many lives will never be the same again.
Russian troops not only approached Kyiv but continued to surround him from the southern port city of Mariupol, where officials said nearly 2,200 people were killed. Russian troops previously focused on the eastern and south of Ukraine – home for more ethnic Russia – but in the past few days have moved to the country’s center.
The United Nations estimates that almost 2.8 million people have escaped from Ukraine since Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a full-scale land and air strikes on February 24, most of them to Poland, struggling to provide arrival.
An advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskiy said on Tuesday that the war in Ukraine was at a crossroads that could lead to an agreement in talks with Russia or new Russian offensive. “We are at the crossroads. Either we will agree to the current or Russian talks will make a second attempt (by offensive) and then there will be more conversation,” said the Oleksiy Arestovych advisor.
