The Afghan-Taliban crisis highlights: The Afghan Taliban has appointed a senior veteran to the finance minister’s posts and the Minister of Defense, two group members said the Reuters news agency reported quoting local media.

The Taliban formally announced an appointment, which a commander said was a while, but the news agency Pajhwok Afghanistan said on Tuesday that Gul Agha was crowned the Minister of Finance and Sadr Ibrahim acted the Minister of Home Affairs.

Meanwhile, China said it has established “communication and open and effective consultation with the Afghan Taliban,” after a meeting between the group representatives and the Beijing Ambassador to Kabul, according to the Associated Press.

The Taliban had asked Turkey to help technically run Kabul airport after the departure of foreign troops but insisted that Ankara’s military also attracted entirely by the deadline of the end of August, two Turkish officials told Reuters. Conditional requests by Taliban Islamists, who swept back to Afghanistan 20 years after they were overthrown in the US invasion, left Ankara with a difficult decision to whether to receive dangerous work, an official said.
