President Emmanuel Macron faced a difficult struggle to win an absolute majority in parliament that would allow him to govern freely after a strong performance by the new left -wing alliance in the first round of Sunday.

Early estimates by Elabe put the veterans of Jean-Luc Melanchon Nukes Bloc-Neck-and-and-Neck with Macron Anestreaming! The alliance in the first round, with 26.20 percent and 25.8 percent respectively.

Elabe Projection Ensemble will win between 260-300 parliamentary seats – with a majority sign directly set in 289 seats – on June 19 and left estimates will secure 170-220 seats, a large increase from 2017.

With rampant inflation encouraging living expenses and eroding wages, Macron has struggled to build a re -election in April, by leaving it as a free marketing that intends to protect the rich more than a hard family.

Considering this result, and the extraordinary opportunities he offers to us and the fate of the homeland, I call people next week to defeat the majority dangerous politics, from Macron,” said Melanchon after the voting.

With a two -round system, which was applied in 577 constituents throughout the country, the popular voting in the first round was a bad indicator of who would eventually win the majority of the following week.

What is at stake is the ability of Macron to pass the reform agenda, including the contested retirement reform that will make the French people work longer, which according to him is needed to ensure long -term order for public finances.
