Kyiv on Sunday urged Moscow to withdraw his troops from the Ukrainian border and continue dialogue with the West if “serious” about the tension de-egalingasi which has surged amid fears of Russian invasion.
“If Russian officials are serious when they say they do not want a new war, Russia must continue the involvement of diplomatic and withdraw the military forces collect them along the Ukrainian border and in the temporary Ukrainian border,” Foreign Minister Kyiv Dmytro Kuleba Tweeted.
The Kremlin has mobilized more than 100,000 soldiers and heavy armor along the Ukrainian border, by Western, who was worried that the Kremlin would hold an attack.
“Diplomacy is the only responsible way,” Kuleba said.
Moscow has denied plans for the invasion and said it did not want war but seek security guarantees from Washington and NATO to curb the expansion of the Eastwards alliance.
This includes a guarantee that NATO will not recognize new members, especially Ukrainians, and the United States will not establish a new military base in ex-Soviet countries.
During a telephone conversation with his French colleagues Jean-Yves Le Drian on Saturday, Kuleba said it was important to stay “alert and firm” during negotiations with Moscow.
